The rise of the 3G holiday, and the best cover for family fun in the sun

05/07/2017

With the school summer holidays fast approaching, families across the UK will no doubt be gearing up for a week or two of fun in the sun and in this week’s travel blog we take a look at some of the most popular destinations for your next family break.

Plus, with three-generation holidays on the rise, we’ve got some handy hints and tips for parents and grandparents heading away with the kids, and the quickest and easiest way to ensure you’re all covered on the same travel insurance policy too.

The most popular destinations…

Spain, the Canaries and Greece continue to be popular destinations for families, with short flight times often preferred for those with little ones.

It doesn’t get much more family orientated than Disney World in Florida – known as the theme park capital of the world, Orlando attracts more than 90 million visitors every year and continues to be a big draw for families.

The rise of the three-generation holiday…

More and more families are heading abroad on a three-generation holiday, with around twenty per cent Britons already holidaying regularly with grandparents, parents and children. The Telegraph’s ultimate guide to three-generation holidays looks at villas, hotels, ski, cruise and adventures and provides a fascinating real-life experience that may just help you prepare for your next family break away.

Can my whole family travel on one policy if I have medical conditions?

As we specialise in finding cover for those with medical conditions, we often have parents and grandparents ask if they can add their other family members to the same policy. The answer is yes, it makes complete sense to cover yourself and your family on the same travel insurance policy.

If you do have any existing conditions all you need to do is declare them and answer our screening questions. If the others travelling with you don’t have any medical conditions to declare, that’s fine, you can just click continue at that stage or let the advisor know.

By insuring everyone on the same policy you will also...

  • Only have one telephone number to call should you need to make a claim, saving you valuable relaxation time and money.
  • Protect your trip in the event of unforeseen cancellation, (so if the worst does happen, at least you will not lose the full cost of the holiday).
  • Be protected should any of your family lose cash or valuables when in destination.
  • Have complete peace of mind so that you can enjoy your trip to the fullest.

What about annual travel insurance?

If you or a family member is taking more than one trip then annual multi-trip insurance could save you money too. Not only will an annual policy cover you all for your family holiday, you will also benefit from independent travel cover, meaning the whole family can travel on individual holidays using the one policy.
