The future of travel revealed... from vertical plane seats to 800mph trains... and a virtual Stonehe

Travel Insurance is a valuable product designed to protect yourselves and your posestions whilst on holiday.

The Mail online have published a very intresting document not based on the topic of Travel Insurance or JustTravelCover.com, however it is based on the future of Travel itself:

Over the decades, how we travel has changed drastically - and it's set to change even more.

In the coming years, if the visionaries get their way, we'll be zooming from the UK to the USA in trains that can hit 800mph, caring for our young ones in creches on board planes that have transparent walls and asking computers to tell us which destinations we really do like the best.

And we'll probably be touring the solar system, too, according to those in the know.

THE BOOKING PROCESS

In 15 years, digital advancements will have made the discovery, planning and booking of a journey into a seamless and intuitive experience.

'Travel search and booking will be as easy as buying a book on Amazon,' explains Skyscanner's CEO and Co-Founder Gareth Williams.

Instead of tapping away at your computer to book flights and accommodations, Global Futurist Daniel Burrus tells Skyscanner that in the future, each of us may have an 'e-agent,' inside a watch or small piece of jewellery, that goes everywhere with us.

EXPERIENCE A HOLIDAY FROM YOUR FRONT ROOM?

As worldwide travel becomes more accessible, tourist attractions are expected to become busier.

So one way to eliminate the stress of queuing would be to holiday in a virtual world.

Qantas, Hamilton Island and Samsung have already partnered to create a unique and exciting virtual reality experience that reveals a 360-degree view of the island from the air, land and even underwater.

Thanks to remarkable three-dimensional vision created to be watched online or via a special virtual reality headset, viewers can see the beauty and facilities of the destination in a way that's far superior to observing still images or standard video.

Futurologist Ian Pearson said that as more and more people want, and can afford, to travel, visitor numbers may have to be limited for safety issues.

'The better technology gets the more exposed places get and more and more people will want to go there,' he told MailOnline Travel.

'It's hard to imagine some sites, such as the Taj Mahal, can continue to attract the numbers it does. At some point I'm sure there will have to be a rationing and most of us will enter into a lottery scheme.
