White sandy beaches with beautiful Turquoise Oceans and quaint towns, if this sounds like your dream holiday then consider one of the 7,000 islands in the Caribbean for your next trip.

If you’re struggling to decide on which of the 7,000 are for you, we’ve shortlist a handful for you to contemplate.

Jamaica

“Ya mon,” the largest English-speaking Island of the Caribbean. Montego Bay is a popular tourist destination and is home to the islands major cruise ship port. The area also hosts numerous beaches and golf courses, Doctor's Cave Beach is possibly the best pick, enjoy a reggae rum punch cocktail whist admiring the view of the ocean. Jerk chicken and curried goat are just a couple of the insanely delicious must try dishes. And what else could complete a trip to Jamaica other than a visit to the Bob Marley Museum, see the sights and sounds of reggae, the museum is situated on the site of the legendary musician’s home in the capital Kingston.

Barbados

Another island with an assortment of sandy beaches and beautiful Blue Ocean. The people of Barbados are called Barbadians and are crazy for afternoon tea, cricket, golf and scuba diving. Barbados was the only vacation destination in this hemisphere with a scheduled Concorde service, the Barbados Concorde Experience is a very popular experience with many tourists. Harrison's Cave is another popular attraction, the natural limestone rock formations are magnificent and a must see.

Cayman Islands

If you see yourself as the next David Attenborough then this island could be for you. Turtles were once upon a time, the main inhabitants of the islands and can still be found in their natural habitat. Agoutis, Snakes, Iguanas, Parrots and over 200 species of bird will also keep you busy on your travels. Seven Mile Beach is another reason for the popularity of the Caymans, a 7 mile stretch of clear waters and coral sands, just remember to pack the sun cream.

Puerto Rico

The official tourism motto is “Puerto Rico does it better!” If you’re the type of person who enjoys culture and history on their trip then this is our pick for you. With so many historic sites to choose from the most popular being ‘Old San Juan’ which explores; history, architecture, engineering, sightseeing, and living "the good life" all in one experience. For those looking to relax, Puerto Rico is dotted with secluded beaches that offer great chill-out spots and gorgeous seascapes with few fellow sunbathers to disturb a peaceful escape.

St. Lucia

The Pitons are a main tourist attraction of St. Lucia, located at the Sulphur Springs Park (Mount Soufriere). Soufriere is a colourful fishing village and home to a picturesque bay.
