Banks in Greece have now re-opened, however travellers are advised to take enough Euros in cash to cover all of their needs.

 

Please note that at this time there are no limites on cash withdrawals for tourists using cards at ATMs, however there are mixed reports on availability of cash from ATMs. There is no guaranteee that you will be ablle to exchange sterling for euros in Greece. There are no restrictions in place for taking unspent euros out of Greece at the end of your stay.

 

Other methods of payments such as credit and debit card transactions are accepted in normal in shops and restaurants.

 

ABTA also advise that travel insuranceshould be arranged as soon as you book your holiday as you should with any destination.
